Jim earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Jim began his insurance career in 1976 as a sales management trainee in the home office of Federated Insurance Companies. He later became a district manager and ultimately a sales manager for Federated, covering the western half of the State of Missouri.

In 1982, Jim joined Insurors & Investors to once again work more closely with clients in order to assist them in reducing their total cost of risk. He enjoys the freedom of program design and flexibility of risk management techniques offered in the independent broker environment.

With over 35 years of experience as an insurance broker, Jim works with some of the largest and most sophisticated firms in the Midwest. His primary expertise is in the areas of Healthcare and Manufacturing. Jim is well known in the business world as a person with considerable expertise in risk identification and mitigation.

With over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry and having held a variety of key positions with our firm, Kristy leads our insurance and risk management operation.  She has broad involvement in managing client relationships on a consultative basis. She leads our Risk Management Team in utilizing risk management strategies to deliver quantifiable financial results for our clients.

Kristy is a Kansas native with a strong commitment to the Salina community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas and the Salina Area United Way. In 2011, Kristy served as Chairperson of the SAUW Campaign Cabinet and led their fundraising efforts which resulted in over $1 million donations.


Kristy resides in Salina with her husband John. They have four children. Sons' Chaz and Colt Balthazor both graduated from Kansas State University and reside in Austin TX and John a Senior at Southeast of Saline High School. Their daughter Kolby is attending Kansas State University majoring in Speech Therapy.

Phil graduated from Kansas State University in 1976 with a B.S. in Business Administration. His career began as a Bank Loan Officer in Ottawa, Kansas. In 1979 he started an insurance career as an Account Executive with Federated Insurance. In 1985 Phil moved his family to Salina from Great Bend to join an independent insurance agency, Insurors & Investors, Inc. Phil became Vice President & Shareholder of Insurors and Investors, Inc. in 1987.

Phil offers more than 30 years of expertise in Commercial Insurance and Surety Risk Management. Phil has many types of insureds with a focus on construction, manufacturing and independent business owners. As a representative for his insureds, he is more than an insurance and bond agent-he is a trusted advisor.

He has served on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina and is an Elder & Trustee at First Presbyterian Church in Salina and currently serves on the Board of Hospice of Salina.

Mark started his insurance career in 1993 as a producer with the Gilbert-Magill Company in Kansas City. There he completed the Producer Partnership Program with the St. Paul Insurance Company. He also earned his AAI designation. In 1997, Mark joined the Philadelphia Insurance Company as a Production Underwriter. Mark joined our firm in 1999. 


Mark has developed expertise as a broker and risk management consultant and directs that experience into two main industries; Construction and Public Entities. He counsels his clients in dealing with the design, development and management of insurance, risk management and surety portfolios. He routinely consults with public administrators to develop new strategies that reduce their risk profile and positions them for a more favorable financial performance.

In 2000, he relocated his family from Missouri to Salina. He became Vice President and a shareholder in 2005. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business from Baker University. Mark is involved with the St. Mary's Grade School and is currently serving on the School Council. He also sits on the Board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Salina and currently serves as president.

Mark and his wife, Kellie, have two boys Jack and Charlie who are involved in many sports, music, drama and service projects at their school and in the community.

Pat joined our firm in 2000 as Controller for the agency. She became Chief Financial Officer in 2008.



She earned her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Fort Hays State University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1982. Pat’s career in accounting and finance has spanned all facets of business.  She started her career as an internal auditor for JCPenney, worked in public accounting for Kennedy and Coe, LLC, and served as the Director of the Small Business Development Center where she assisted clients in meeting the challenges of owning a successful business.

Pat has been involved in several community organizations including her church, Salina Community Theatre, Salina Area United Way, and Project Salina. She is a graduate of Leadership Salina, a program of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband, David, particularly enjoy playing hand bells in their church choir.
